A self-drilling screw is a screw with a self-tapping drilling head at the front end of the screw, also called a self-drilling screw. The screw is a tool for tightening the parts of the object step by step by using the physical and mathematical principles of the oblique circular rotation and friction of the object.
The tail of the drill tail screw is in the shape of a drill tail or a pointed tail, without auxiliary processing, it can be directly drilled, tapped and locked on the setting material and base material, which greatly saves construction time. Compared with ordinary screws, its toughness and holding force are high, and it will not loosen after a long time after combination. It is easy to use safety drilling and tapping once to complete the operation.
Uses: It is a kind of screw, mainly used for fixing color steel tiles of steel structures and also for fixing thin plates of simple buildings. It cannot be used for metal-to-metal bonding. Material and model
There are two kinds of materials, iron and stainless steel, among which stainless steel is divided into various materials.
The models are: Φ4.2/ Φ4.8/ Φ5.5/ Φ6.3mm, the specific length can be negotiated upon request.
According to different drill tails, it can be divided into:
Round head rice/cross/plum blossom, countersunk head (flat head)/yonzo/cross/plum blossom, hexagonal washer, round head washer (large flat head), trumpet head, etc.

They are measured from top to tip. Hex and hex washer head screws and bolts are measured from the bottom of the head although the top and bottom are flat. From that point to the tip is the length of the screw. Self-drilling screws measure all the way to the end of the drill tip.
While self-tapping screws will drill holes in soft materials, self-drilling screws are capable of drilling holes in anything from metal to wood. This key difference is that the tips of self-drilling screws are similar to drill bits, so they do not require pilot holes.
Self-drilling screws do not require pilot holes, but can also be tapped. Self-tapping screws are self-tapping threads, but cannot drill through metal and require a pilot hole. These screws are not interchangeable and conflating the two can cause a lot of trouble or possible failure in the field.
Self-drilling screws have a tip that acts as a drill bit and sharp-cut threads that tap the hole during installation. Self-drilling screws are a common type of screw used to quickly drill into metal and wood. Self-drilling screws can usually be identified by their pointed and grooved (notched) tips.
